Connecting Research and Practice

Bringing together the best available knowledge and frontline practice for excellence in orphan care

Researchers want their work to make an impact.

They want more than publications and citations. They believe that research done well can change lives. They want their work to matter, but may lack connections with care providers who can put research findings into action. It’s easy to feel like their work is just sitting on a shelf.

Care providers want to deliver excellent care.

They long to see children and families thrive, and their programs make a difference. They want their work to matter, but they are trying to meet too many needs with too few resources. They don’t have the capacity to find, read, digest and apply new learnings from research. They end up spending valuable time and energy generating their own solutions, reacting to urgent needs around them, and hoping that their work will make a difference.

Researchers and care providers need each other, but they rarely work together.

We’re working to change that. We are bridging the gap by developing original research that is relevant to practice, translating and disseminating it to both the academic and orphan care communities, and continually creating opportunities for practitioners and researchers to interact as they mutually seek better care for vulnerable children.

Let us help you bridge the gap between research and practice in orphan care.

If you’re a care provider looking for the latest research or a researcher aiming for greater impact, you're in the right place. We’ve developed targeted opportunities to move you closer to your goal, all with the end result of better care for vulnerable children and families around the world.
